I reviewed this book and it was a wonderful novel. I would recommend this book to everyone to read. I read this book within days of getting it. I simply couldn't put the book down. After I read and meditated on the word of God I would find myself reading this novel.. I love E. Lynn Harris' work and he's a phenomenal man and he's very inspiring. Oh and he loves his RAZORBACKS!!!! 2008-09-02

This book was good from beginning to end. E. Lynn Harris never lets me down, although I wish something more would have happened to Barrett for the role she played in the story but alls well that ends well.. Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the next book:)

For me E Lynn has come through once again. I started this book on a Saturday morning and was done by noon on Sunday. I appreciated that this book was "non-Basil" based and really enjoyed the story line. The story focuses on the relationship of a mother and son as well as on some of the pitfalls of the professional sports world. All in all it went down like a good glass of wine- smooth end enjoyable. I hope this next book doesn't take this long. :-) 2008-09-01

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just Not That Good
I have been a huge fan of Harris since his first novel. I've attended readings and book signings and always buy his books the day they come out. His are books that I will devour because of his characters and plot developments. Sadly, Just Too Good to be True does not measure up to his earlier efforts.
I heard Harris on Wendy Williams' show and he explained how some of his Arkansas students helped him write the dialogue for his characters. Perhaps that's why much of the dialogue was simply not believable. Worse than the dialogue, though, is that the characters in this book seem particularly one-dimentional. They do things that are simply not realistic and it's difficult to develop a real relationship with them. I'll continue to read Harris, but after this book I won't be standing in line to have him autograph the next one. 2008-08-27
